Privacy policy
Short version: the extension runs entirely in your own browser. There's no account, no server for your notebook data, and nothing is sent to us or anyone else.
What the extension does
YouTube to NotebookLM adds an import button to YouTube playlist, channel, and video pages. When you click it, the extension reads the page you're viewing and adds each item as a properly labeled source in your Google NotebookLM notebook.
What we collect
Nothing. We don't run a backend for the import feature, we don't have a database, and there's no place for your notebook or video data to go. We don't see your notebooks, your account, or anything you import.
What stays on your device
Everything. The extension reads the page you're on and adds sources directly into your open NotebookLM notebook, right inside your browser. Nothing is uploaded to a server we control.
Network requests
The extension only talks to the domains it needs to do the import you asked for — YouTube's own pages and Google's NotebookLM (notebooklm.google.com). It makes no requests to us or to any other third party.
Permissions, in plain English
- Access to youtube.com and notebooklm.google.com — so the import button can read the page you're viewing and add sources to your notebook.
- Tabs — to briefly open and close helper tabs while building a bulk import.
- Downloads — to save exported files (for example, a ZIP of your sources) to your computer, when you use that feature.
Third parties
We don't sell, share, or transfer any of your notebook or video data, because we never collect it in the first place.
Children
The extension isn't directed at children and doesn't knowingly collect anything from anyone, regardless of age.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date above.
